A seasoned executive in content strategy, acquisitions, and programming, Angela most recently served as Senior Vice President of Content Acquisitions & Programming for UMC – Urban Movie Channel, a division of RLJ Entertainment, overseeing the company’s acquisitions, programming, and development for the proprietary subscription VOD platform UMC (www.UMC.tv), launched by RLJE Chairman and BET founder, Robert L. Johnson. While there, Angela spearheaded UMC’s original content initiative, bringing award-winning scripted and unscripted series to the OTT platform, and also served as General Manager, overseeing business operations, marketing, and scheduling.

Angela joined RLJE from REVOLT TV, where she served as VP of Content Licensing & Acquisitions during the start-up and early launch phase of the music/lifestyle network founded by Sean “Diddy” Combs, which initially launched on Comcast and Time Warner in the fall of 2013. There, Angela was an integral part of both the programming and distribution teams, overseeing content acquisitions and responsible for seeking digital rights licensing opportunities for Revolt TV & Media content across VOD, streaming, and other IPTV platforms.

Angela also has an extensive background in development and production, with particular experience in the start-up space. Prior to REVOLT, Angela held previous positions at companies on the cutting edge of urban, specialty, and niche content distribution, including VP of Acquisitions & Development for Codeblack Entertainment (then a Vivendi Universal Entertainment joint venture), VP of Acquisitions & Co-Productions for Simmons Lathan Media Group (media company of industry mogul Russell Simmons and TV producer Stan Lathan), and Director of Acquisitions & Development for Urban Entertainment (Time Warner). At each post, she was responsible for building the company’s content library, programming strategy, and content distribution through digital rights licensing, broadcast licensing, and International sales.

Throughout her career, Angela has been a previously invited speaker at Digital Hollywood, Next TV, Hollywood Creative Forum, The Future of Television; and frequently invited guest lecturer, in academic environments including Stanford, MIT, Los Angeles City College, New York Film Academy and UCLA Extension, as well as panelist, juror and key note speaker at numerous film festivals, markets, and other industry events. Angela is also a member of the Producers Guild of America, serving on the Diversity Committee and Women’s Impact Network.  

Angela is a graduate of the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts.
