Jamaal Finkley, SVP of Digital Production, was previously CEO and Executive Producer of BlackTree TV, one of the premier distributors of online urban entertainment content and lifestyle information. In that capacity, he produced a news portal which garnered more than 15 million unique visitors each month and half a billion video views worldwide. Mr. Finkley launched BlackTree TV in 2007 under the umbrella of BlackTree Media, which he founded in 1996. In 2002, he formed a media partnership with BET Networks to provide additional coverage of their premier events. This relationship helped set the stage to expand BlackTree’s brand and provide viewers with exclusive content. Through the years, he built his cult-like following of online supporters by keeping himself integrated into every facet of the company in order to stay on the pulse of current trends. He has produced news segments for Hollywood’s top awards shows and red carpets, such as the Academy Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, American Music Awards, Grammy Awards, and Fashion Week. At the same time, he enjoys getting in front of the camera to interview A-list celebrities, including Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Monique, and Will Smith. Prior to becoming a full-time entrepreneur, he began his entertainment career as a production assistant for the legendary Spike Lee during the production of the movie Get On the Bus. Mr. Finkley studied biomedical engineering at Vanderbilt University and mass communications at Dillard University.
